Tri-State Aluminum brings more than 40 years of experience working with aluminum to provide one-stop-shop solutions. In addition to our custom extrusion capabilities, Tri-State Aluminum can also fulfill your finishing requirements with our anodizing, wet painting, and powder coating services.

Anodizing

The advantage of using Tri-State Aluminum’s anodized aluminum extrusions in your application is that we will provide decorative and corrosion-resistant components that take advantage of the lightweight, durable properties of aluminum.

Your aluminum extrusion application will benefit from Tri-State Aluminum’s durable and easy to maintain anodized aluminum extrusions. Anodizing is an electrochemical process that thickens and toughens the naturally occurring protective oxide. The resulting finish, depending on the process, is the second hardest substance known to man (second only to the diamond), extending the life of the extrusion. We offer Clear, Black, and a range of Bronze Anodizing. Bright Dip Anodizing is available on a case-by-case basis.

Wet Paint

Advances in color fastness and development have allowed aluminum extruders like Tri-State Aluminum to offer more single source responsibility thereby saving both time and money in processing, handling and shipping with our painting and coating services. For wet paint finishing, Tri-State Aluminum is proud to offer Kynar- and acrylic-based paint options for both color variety and durability in your application.

Our wet painting process involves a five-stage pre-treat system, electrostatic vertical disk spray booth, and state-of-the art ovens that cure immediately for durability. Color matching services are also available at no additional cost or choose from literally “hundreds” of formulations that are computerized to provide uniformity and convenience.

Powder Coating

Powder coating for aluminum extrusions is accomplished in a specialized booth where the powdered resins and color pigments are applied via automatic spray guns and an electro-static charge. The advantage of using powder coating for aluminum extrusions is that it uses less energy to produce than wet painting in addition to higher durability in mechanical applications.

Tri-State Aluminum has the ability to meet your color specification for your painted aluminum extrusion application with both Kynar and acrylic paints, including 50% & 70% PVDF coatings, polyesters, and silicone polyesters. These paints come in a wide range of colors available and offer excellent color consistency for your extrusion application.

We utilize spray-applied techniques, resulting in coated extrusions that can resist damage caused by chemicals, humidity, and other environmental factors. Spray-applied extrusions are best suited for architectural applications such as storefronts, curtainwalls, windows, and louvers where long-lasting color is required.
